During the Napoleonic wars Ireland had a series of watch towers built along it's coast to protect from invading ships.

There is one in the Gleann

Which takes about two hours to walk to

But it's such a lovely walk

one of these Islands is supposed to be roan inish, not the real roan inish but the one they used in the movie

Not sure which one though

I also went to mass this morning. one of about ten people and the only one under 40 I'm sure, but it was beautiful.
